Rhythms of the World: To the Rhythm of Sustainability

In Rhythms of the World, the rhythms not only resonate to the beat of the music, but also to the sound of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This festival has turned every chord and every beat into an opportunity to move towards a more sustainable future. From planning to execution, Ritmos del Mundo integrates ecological and responsible practices into all aspects of its production. With two main stages offering a diversity of musical styles such as reggaeton, hip-hop, pop and trap, the festival not only guarantees high-quality entertainment, but also promotes a positive environmental and social impact, aligning with the SDGs of the Agenda 2030. Here we tell you how, in this edition, the rhythms resonate to the sound of sustainability.

SDG 5. Gender equality.

In our purple point we integrate gender equality into the festival. In addition, we promote training and education. We support young people to choose a job that allows them to advance their future regardless of their gender.

SDG 7: Affordable and clean energy

Use of Renewable Energy Rhythms of the World uses renewable energy sources and energy-saving technologies for all its facilities.

SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth
Local Job Creation:

The festival generates local employment, hiring a large proportion of staff from nearby towns.

SDG 9. Industry, innovation and infrastructure

Prioritize the Use of Reusable Temporary Infrastructure: Reusable infrastructure minimizes waste and resource consumption. In the festivals of the Farra Events group, the stages are reused and the furniture is used, reusing them with new designs suitable for the new festivals. Ecodesign and circularity are encouraged.

SDG 11: Sustainable cities and communities
Sustainable Mobility:

Rhythms of the World encourages the use of public transportation, bicycles and shared vehicles. Transportation services are available that connect the event with Magma, thus reducing CO2 emissions and improving accessibility for attendees.

SDG 12: Responsible production and consumption
Consumption of Local Products:

The festival collaborates with local suppliers and prioritizes the consumption of KM 0 products, supporting local farmers and businesses. This reduces the carbon footprint associated with the transportation of goods and promotes the local economy.
Elimination of Single-Use Plastics: Each attendee receives a reusable cup with an exclusive design, intended to be a souvenir of the event, thus reducing plastic waste. In addition, recycling and composting stations are installed to properly manage waste.

Encourage Selective Waste Collection Installation of clearly identified recycling containers throughout the festival so that attendees can easily separate waste. Collaboration with local recycling companies to guarantee the correct management of collected materials.

SDG 13: Climate Action
Measures to Reduce and Offset the Carbon Footprint:

Rhythms of the World is committed to calculating and offsetting the festival’s carbon footprint, working towards a carbon neutral event. This includes the use of renewable energy, the promotion of sustainable mobility and efficient waste management.
Environmental Education: Spaces dedicated to environmental education and volunteering. Promote environmental awareness by raising awareness among attendees about renewable energy and reducing the carbon footprint through educational campaigns in the Social & Green Corner.
Post-Event Evaluation: Measurement of environmental and social impact to improve future editions.
Advertising and Ticketing: Communication campaign mainly online, reducing the use of printed materials and the carbon footprint.

SDG 17: Partnerships to achieve the goals

Collaboration with Public and Private Entities: Ritmos del Mundo collaborates with public and private entities that share its vision of sustainability. These alliances are essential to implement sustainable practices and promote more equitable and responsible development.

Rhythms that Inspire Sustainability

In this edition, the rhythms of Ritmos del Mundo resonate to the sound of the SDGs, creating a symphony of sustainability and entertainment. Each note and each beat are intertwined with a firm commitment to a greener and fairer future. From renewable energy that lights up the stages to reusable cups that add an eco-friendly touch to every toast, every aspect of the festival is designed to harmonize with the Sustainable Development Goals.

By dancing and enjoying the music, attendees are also participating in a celebration of environmental and social responsibility. Thus, Rhythms of the World not only sets the rhythm of music, but also the beat of positive change. With each chord, we show that it is possible to enjoy the present while protecting the future. Together, we make each edition another step towards a world where fun and sustainability go hand in hand, ensuring that generations to come can continue to enjoy vibrant and responsible festivals. May the rhythms of sustainability continue to resonate!
