Ritmos del Mundo: Music and Sustainability in Harmony

Ritmos del Mundo & Bresh: In Tune with Sustainability

Farra Events, with its festival Ritmos del Mundo, makes rhythms not only resonate to the beat of music but also to the rhythm of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This festival has turned every chord and beat into an opportunity to move towards a more sustainable future. From planning to execution, Ritmos del Mundo integrates ecological and responsible practices into all aspects of its production. The festival not only guarantees high-quality entertainment but also promotes a positive environmental and social impact, aligning with the SDGs of the 2030 Agenda. Here’s how, in this edition, the rhythms resonate to the sound of sustainability.

The SDGs we prioritize in our commitment to sustainability are:

SDG 5. Gender Equality.

In our purple point, we integrate gender equality into the festival. Additionally, we promote training and education. We support young people in choosing a job that allows them to advance in their future, regardless of gender.

SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy

Use of Renewable Energy: Ritmos del Mundo uses renewable energy sources and energy-saving technologies for all its facilities.

SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

Creation of Local Employment: The festival generates local employment, hiring a large proportion of the staff from nearby towns.

SDG 9. Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure

Prioritize the Use of Reusable Temporary Infrastructure: Reusable infrastructures minimize waste and resource consumption. In Farra Events festivals, stages are reused, and furniture is repurposed with new designs suited to the new festivals. Ecodesign and circularity are promoted.

SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

Consumption of Local Products: The festival collaborates with local suppliers and prioritizes the consumption of KM 0 products, supporting local farmers and businesses. This reduces the carbon footprint associated with the transport of goods and promotes the local economy.

Elimination of Single-Use Plastics: Each attendee receives a reusable cup with an exclusive design, intended to be a souvenir of the event, thus reducing plastic waste.

Additionally, recycling and composting stations are set up to properly manage waste.

Encourage Selective Waste Collection: Recycling bins clearly identified throughout the festival allow attendees to easily separate waste. Collaboration with local recycling companies ensures proper management of the collected materials.

SDG 13: Climate Action

Measures to Reduce and Offset Carbon Footprint: Ritmos del Mundo is committed to calculating and offsetting the festival’s carbon footprint, working towards a carbon-neutral event.

Environmental Education: Spaces dedicated to environmental education and volunteering. Raising environmental awareness by educating attendees on renewable energy and carbon footprint reduction through educational campaigns in the Social & Green Corner.

Advertising and Ticketing: Mainly online communication campaign, reducing the use of printed materials and the carbon footprint.

SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals

Collaboration with Public and Private Entities: Ritmos del Mundo collaborates with public and private entities that share its sustainability vision. These partnerships are essential for implementing sustainable practices and fostering more equitable and responsible development.
